Why invest in a heat kit?

Electric heat strips, also referred to as heat kits, serve as a supplemental or secondary heating source installed within the air handler. Often likened to a powerful blow dryer, the heat kit effectively distributes warm air directly into the ductwork. These kits are primarily utilized in emergency situations when the heat pump is temporarily out of service or when external temperatures reach exceptionally low levels. Although they are not as energy efficient as heat pumps, heat kits are invaluable for short-term use when heating is critically needed.
