Why invest in a heat kit?

Electric heat strips, or heat kits, serve as a supplemental or secondary heating source installed within the air handler. Often likened to a “large blow dryer,” the heat kit efficiently channels heated air directly into the ducts. These kits are primarily utilized in emergency situations when the heat pump is temporarily inoperable or during exceptionally cold weather. Although they are not as energy-efficient as heat pumps, heat kits are invaluable for short-term use when necessary.
