Why Choose a Heat Kit?
Electric heat strips, also known as heat kits, serve as a secondary or supplemental heat source installed directly within the air handler. Often compared to a large, high-powered hair dryer, these units effectively transfer heat into the duct system. Heat kits are most commonly utilized in emergency situations when the heat pump is temporarily out of service or when outdoor temperatures drop to extreme levels. Though less energy-efficient than heat pumps, heat kits are designed for short-term use when necessary to ensure consistent indoor comfort.
